About Us

Matthew Fredin - Master of Social Work - Clinical Specialization

People are amazing, and I'm honored when individual's allow me to journey with them through the sacred places of heart and mind. My overall practice framework is a client-centered, strengths-based approach focused on promoting client reflection, and self-determination. The inclusion of neuroscience, and a trauma-informed approach, help to normalize many of the experiences you may be having. There is a respected therapist by the name of Virginia Satir who once commented, "As a therapist, I am a companion. I try to help people tune into their own wisdom". This wise perspective continues to resonate with me, and is a core value I work from. You are the expert of you. Even when you feel lost, overwhelmed, or dis-empowered, you have a lifetime of knowledge, skills, experience, insight, hopes and ideas that you bring with you, into the counselling space. Together, with a collaboration of knowledge, we can work towards emotional health and well being.
